HARRISBURG – Rep. Mike Puskaric (R-Allegheny/Washington) today announced $360,000 in Gaming Economic Development Tourism Fund grants have been awarded in the 39th Legislative District.
“I am pleased to see local and state governments working together,” said Puskaric. “These projects will help to promote continuous improvements in services to better aid our residents.”
The grants were awarded as follows:
• Elizabeth Township Historical Society - $100,000 for replacing the roof, completing the stone veneer on the chimney, installing a new HVAC system, and LED track lighting on the first and second floor as well as installing new wall fixtures.
• Jefferson Memorial Park Inc. - $260,000 to be used for the park to re-open its collaborative leaf/yard waste operation and facility. Since 1995, there has been no additional grant funding and the initial equipment purchased with the 1995 grant funds has far exceeded the life cycle for the equipment needed.
“These communities need funding for necessary upgrades for safety and beautification purposes,” said Puskaric. “It was my pleasure to advocate for these grants.”
The GEDTF program provides funding for single-year and multi-year projects that promote development in Allegheny County, including economic, infrastructure and community improvements, job training, public safety, and public interest.
